There are, of course, many, many ways of cooking cabbage.
This one is as simple as it gets and I think the result
is delicious:
Shred or chop your cabbage
Wash, drain and shake dry, leaving only the water clinging to the cabbage.
In a saucepan melt a generous knob of butter.
Add the cabbage, season and cook over a moderate heat With the lid on, until tender.
Shake occasionally to avoid burning.
Serve
(I said it was simple!)
